The SAP route to NVQ achievement (trainees/uncertified workers)

ACHIEVING THE NVQ VIA THE SAP ROUTE

The NVQ (National Vocational Qualification) has been designed to provide a nationwide standard of assessment in most work occupations.  The SAP (CITB Specialist Apprentice Programme) route, permits a trainee (or unqualified) worker to gain upskilling training with an NVQ outcome.

In association with StoneTrain and the CITB we have developed three programmes:
  • Façade Preservation (level 2)
  • Stone Fixing (level 2)
  • Stone Paving (level 2)

Programmes are conducted over a 2 year period and successful candidates will achieve a level 2 NVQ, a CITB Specialist Apprenticeship Certificate and a StoneTrain certificate.

Learner’s need to be employed by a CITB registered firm, so that the employer can claim grant.  Alternatively they can participate, but no grant payment will be made.

The employer provides the learner with on-site mentoring and we as the training provider facilitate up to 20 days of off-site training over 2 years.

THE BEST NEWS IS…

For CITB registered firms, the fee to enrol onto the programme is over-compensated for by the CITB SUP grant…. making enrollment a no-brainer!
